A Self Sufficient Village

Another factor that makes Sonshine Village unique is our goal to create a children’s’ village and school campuses that are completely self-sufficient. Investment in education, infrastructure and micro-business ventures will produce enough revenue to sustain the village long-term, allowing them to be financially independent.

The benefits of self-sufficiency are many. Micro-enterprise businesses will not only produce revenue for Sonshine Village but it will also provide employment to men and women from the surrounding community. Instead of relying on charity; students, workers and leaders will be empowered to create wealth and improve their communities. Future micro-enterprise businesses envisioned for our village include community tuition at Sonshine schools, auto repair, newspaper & radio, posho mill (grain mill), sewing & tailoring, agriculture, carpentry, computer skills, tourism and safari guide training.
